VANDELIVERY APP BACKGROUND CHECK

If you're wondering what the VanDelivery background check is, you're not alone. Of all the steps of the application process to become a VanDelivery service provider the background screening is the one that arouses more curiosity in the applicants. Here is a complete review of the process.

Working with VanDelivery App does not require complex experience or special skills. Basically, the list of qualifications to become a VanDelivery service provider is pretty simple and requires that:

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • You have a valid Canadian driver’s license or Provincial ID
  • A smartphone (iPhone or Android)

VanDelivery service providers are independent contractors. In addition, VanDelivery App requires that all applicants without any exceptions undergo a criminal background check. All hiring decisions for VanDelivery service providers are based on the result of the check. During this process, you need to give your consent to look at specific areas of your life and pay a $29 Background Check fee. If we find something in the reports, we may decide to reject your application. You will receive a notice that we might not hire you due to the result of a background check. In any case you can receive a copy of the report. Safety and trust are a priority. One of VanDelivery's main concerns is to keep the platform safe and secure. VanDelivery is not a company that provides employment background check, so we use a third-party company to perform the checks, called ScreeningCanada.

The background check includes a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review as well as a criminal background check. There is no credit check involved. The evaluation of background checks vary from city to city and is based on a combination of criteria specified in local laws and regulations governing workers and drivers, as well as VanDelivery's internal safety standards. Applicable laws specifying the criteria VanDelivery must follow when reviewing background check results vary considerably by province, so individuals might be disqualified for criminal ofenses and driving history not indicated here. Background checks are performed by ScreeningCanada, a third-party background check provider that is accredited by the Professional Background Screening Association.

MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT
To receive jobs or make deliveries using the VanDelivery App you must hold a valid Canadian driver's license and have a minimum of one year of licensed driving experience in Canada. Three years of Canadian driving experience is required to get jobs if you are under 23 years old. Your driver's license must be active and free of disqualifying restrictions. Major driving violations or a recent history of multiple minor driving violations, including but not limited to no-fault accidents, may result in disqualification.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
Subject to and in accordance with provincial and local law, some types of criminal convictions such as murder, sexual assault, terrorism-related offenses, and other serious criminal convictions will result in disqualification if they occurred at any time in your lifetime.
Convictions for felonies, violent crimes, sexual offenses, and registered sex offender status, among other types of criminal records, are also disqualifying. Pending charges for those categories of crimes are also disqualifying, unless and until such charges are resolved in your favor.
